QuTech

QuTech is an advanced research center for quantum computing and quantum internet, a collaboration founded by TU Delft and TNO. QuTech addresses scientific challenges as well as engineering issues in a joint center of know-how with industrial partners. QuTech is organized along Roadmaps. Much of the activities occur within roadmaps with general support organized centrally.

TNO

The Netherlands Organisation for applied scientific research TNO, was founded by law in 1932 to enable business and government to apply knowledge. As an organisation regulated by public law, TNO is independent: not part of any government, university or company.

TNO’s mission is to connect people and knowledge to create innovations that boost the sustainable competitive strength of industry and well-being of society. TNO works in collaboration with partners and focuses on nine societal domains. As an organization operating under public law, TNO has an independent position and based on these preconditions, TNO creates independent and reliable solutions to the grand challenges our societies face. The approximately 2,600 employees work to provide innovations, research and data that can readily be applied by businesses and governments.

TU Delft

Delft University of Technology is the largest and oldest Dutch public technical university, located in Delft, The Netherlands. It is repeatedly considered the best technical university in the Netherlands. With eight faculties and numerous research institutes, it hosts over 19,000 students, more than 2,900 scientists, and more than 2,100 support and management staff. Within TU Delft, the Faculty of Applied Sciences (AS) and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Sciences (EEMCS) are both involved in QuTech.

SurfSara

SURF is the collaborative ICT organisation for Dutch education and research. SURF offers students, lecturers and scientists in the Netherlands access to the best possible internet and ICT facilities. SURFsara is one of the subsidiaries of SURF.

SURFsara’s mission is to support research in the Netherlands by developing and offering advanced and sustainable ICT infrastructure, services and expertise. SURFsara's services and infrastructure are necessary for top-level research and innovation. SURFsara support research in the Netherlands by:

  • providing an integrated ICT research infrastructure
  • providing services in the areas of computing, data storage, visualization, networking, cloud and e-Science
  • the provision of multidisciplinary expertise and support in ICT technology and applications
  • doing all required innovation, engineering and development
